REVOLTINGLY AWESOME CHOCOLATE CAKE
cake:
2 cups white sugar
1 3/4 cup flour
3/4 cup GOOD cocoa powder
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
2 eggs
1 cup milk
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 cup boiling water
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Combine all but water in a mixing bowl. Beat for 2 minutes on medium speed. Boil water, stir into cake batter. Pour into two greased 8” cake pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a fork comes out clean.
frosting:
1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1/3 cup milk
1 tablespoon vanilla
3 1/2 cup confectioners sugar
Stir together then beat the hell out of it with your mixer for, like, a minute.

Matt Mason - the Buzz Lightyear of 1969.

Having lived through 1969 and The Major Matt Mason hype, I can attest that he was cashing in on the NASA craze but MMM lacked Buzz Lightyear’s panaché and sense of humor.  And, even as an eight-year old kid, I thought the Space Crawler and Moon Suit were incredibly lame.
